It’s been cold for New York Fashion Week Fall 2016 as shows got started over the weekend, which meant the attendees were bundled up in everything from fur to wool to sheepskin and leather. So really, this street style show was all about the coats.

One of our favorite fashion icons (and NYC funny ladies) Leandra Medine Cohen, showed up in a color-blocked shearling coat. One of many wearing something color-blocked, actually Pernille Teisbaek showed up wearing almost the exact same thing. There were color-blocked pants, color-blocked scarves, color-blocked furs… well, you get the idea.

Speaking of furs, practically everyone was draped in something fuzzy. There were shearling lined leather coats galore… Veronika Heilbrunner wore a boho style brown leather coat with traditional off-white shearling lining, while Ece Sukan went with red leather and cherry red lining. But who stole the show (in our humble opinion), was Linda Tol. She killed it in an ecru and denim ensemble including a long fur lined off-white coat.

In another direction from the monotone wardrobes that swarmed the shows were hints of prints. Patterns were worn more like accessories than main pieces. A bit of color here, a fun printed bag there, but for the most part our attendees kept things regally toned down.

With the winter’s renewed vigor in New York city, we can use all the inspiration to brave the cold that we can get. Fortunately, it’s not over yet!
